Compact Medical Grade Air Filtration Systems
The IRIS Series Medical Grade Air Filtration System is equipped with a dual-stage, high-performance odour control MERV8/Carbon Primary filter and a 2nd stage HEPA filter with an efficiency rating of 99.97% @ 0.3 μm.
Notable for its ability to filter sub-micron airborne aerosols that viruses can adhere to (as well as particulate matter, VOCs, allergens, and microorganisms), this medical-grade air filtration capability makes it popular for applications in public spaces where there is minimal ventilation such as classrooms, gyms, waiting rooms, medical offices, assessment rooms, long-term care facilities, clean rooms, storefronts, salons, and restaurants.Unsure whether your needs require medical-grade air filtration? How is the IRIS Medical Grade Air Purification System Rated?
The IRIS series uses a HEPA filter capable of capturing sub-micron particles at an efficiency of 99.97% @ 0.3 μm, which adheres to the highest standard for air filtration systems and the standard referenced by the CDC within the 2003 Guidelines for Environmental Infection Control in Health-Care Facilities with regards to ventilation requirements for areas affecting patient care in hospitals and outpatient facilities.

How does the IRIS Medical Grade Air Purification System Work?
The IRIS system includes a two-stage filtration process:
To understand the benefits of the IRIS product line and how it provides the highest standard of filtration, best suited for medical air filtration, Aeroex recommends diving into the basics of the HEPA and MERV rating systems.
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, a 1 to 16 scale that quantifies the capability and efficiency of an air filter at filtering particles (typically measured in the size of microns and percentage effectiveness). HEPA filters are not MERV rated because their efficiency exceeds the highest MERV 16 rating. The IRIS system contains both the high-performance HEPA filter and an initial MERV 8 filter. The benefit of this approach is that the MERV 8 filter will capture dust, fibres, spores, and other particulate matter so that the HEPA filter can last longer while targeting bacteria and other smaller particulates.
What are the Benefits of Opting for an IRIS Air Purification System?
Minimize and Capture the Presence of Airborne Infectious Viruses
The IRIS series of Air Purifiers is an excellent investment aimed at airborne risk mitigation. Opting for a high-grade air purifier such as the IRIS demonstrates that measures are being taken to ensure a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers alike. A medical-grade air filtration system is not a substitute for any other public health guidelines, regulatory requirements, or hygiene protocols, but it will dramatically improve the air quality in your facility and the wellbeing of anyone in it.
Implementing Aeroex’s Air Filtration systems will dramatically minimize the presence of airborne infectious diseases, including COVID-19. Ultimately improving the overall wellbeing of workers, visitors, and other personnel at your facilities. When applied as an additional control measure on top of government guidelines, you are guaranteed to further reduce the risk of contamination, proving especially beneficial in areas with minimal to no ventilation available (Aeroex does not guarantee the complete elimination of infectious disease transmission). Enhancing your facility with a Medical-Grade Air Purifier yields several benefits including increased likelihood of business continuity, improved brand reputation, better working conditions, and contribution to the collective efforts to reduce infectious disease transmission. Failure to preemptively safeguard your operation may have undesirable consequences.
Minimize Unpleasant Odours
Evident from the overview of how medical-grade air purifiers work and the benefits they offer, the IRIS Series checks off every item on the list relating to health standards and air quality. However, many secondary benefits have not been discussed just yet. Notably the containment and elimination of odors. Odours are caused by low concentration volatilized chemical compounds, meaning that other methods of air quality control may not tackle the root cause of odors. The HEPA filter provides the benefit of odour mitigation, on top of the already impressive benefits of medical-grade air purification.
Compact and Powerful
The IRIS Series is both compact and powerful. The largest IRIS Series air purification system (the IRIS-4500) can deliver 4000 cfm of airflow, despite only being 68 cubic feet. Small enough to be accommodated within any of your existing mechanical systems. The compact and powerful nature of the IRIS series means that performance isn’t compromised while delivering a small footprint. This is especially beneficial to smaller facilities where every inch of available space may be detrimental to the overall productivity of the operation. To accommodate ranging operational needs, Aeroex’s IRIS series offers three centrally mounted models (IRIS-1100, IRIS-2000, IRIS-4500) ranging in size and power.
Aeroex provides even more flexibility by offering smaller, portable units. The IRIS-400 and IRIS-600 are portable, allowing for medical-grade filtration that may be required to adapt to various locations. Excellent examples of where a portable unit provides an incomparable advantage would include mobile clinics, classrooms, patient rooms, small gyms, or where ongoing changes within your facility mean a centrally mounted unit may not be feasible (e.g. changing tenants, building renovations, etc.). When choosing a portable IRIS model, you get the same superior HEPA filtration system as the larger models, meaning regardless of your choice, you will receive the medical-grade air purification that meets and exceeds the national standard you trust.
How to Choose A Medical Grade Air Purification Unit
After pinpointing the need for a medical-grade air purification unit, there is a diverse range of models to choose from within the IRIS series to ensure the purification solution is tailored to the specific needs of your business. Our staff understands that these products may seem complicated to navigate at first, and will provide easy and accessible support while finding your solution.
The primary driver when deciding on the right product for you will be the volume of room/s you intended to provide air purification for, as this corresponds to the size of the machine and the cubic feet per minute of airflow it can deliver.
