Industrial Air Purifiers
With the growing necessity for managing the emerging coronavirus endemic through transmission mitigation, there is a clear need for smart and easy ways to provide indoor air purification that protects your business and prevents disruptions. Aeroex provides a full suite of air purification solutions ranging from heavy-duty oil mist collectors in industrial settings to medical-grade air purification systems equipped with HEPA filters (describe below) suitable for restaurants, schools, and hospitals. Our air purification systems are backed by science and have a proven implementation track record in jurisdictions like provincial governments that need medical-grade air purification. Aeroex is the made-in-Canada solution you can trust in an expanding industry that can sometimes be confusing to navigate due to the claims made by opportunistic fads.
The Need for Industrial Air Filtration Equipment
Indoor air quality has always been a consideration for workplace safety, but the demand for indoor air quality has significantly changed in light of coronavirus outbreaks that disrupted businesses in 2020 and 2021. An air purification system does not substitute for any public health guidelines or regulations like vaccines, masking, or social distancing, but when used properly it will provide a significant screening mechanism that will improve your workplace outcomes. With recent changes in public policy in jurisdictions like Ontario Canada, recommendations are trending towards a return to a regular working life where some transmissions will occur. So long as individuals are vaccinated, symptoms are expected to be frequent but mild. Wherever possible, minimizing these instances is preferred by businesses and customers. In this environment where more workers or customers are on-site and further disruption is undesirable, a medical-grade air purification system will ensure the transition goes smoothly by providing a way to mitigate the increased activity at your facility.
This strategy is reflected in recent statements by medical officials like the former President of the Ontario Medical Association, Dr. Sohail Gandhi:
Air purification key to reduce COVID-19 transmission: expert. “Focus on aerosolized spread and the need for indoor capacities. I think it would make a bigger difference than capacity restrictions.”

What We Provide: Medical Grade Air Purification
To meet this need, Aeroex provides medical-grade, industrial air filtration units that can be deployed in any type of business, either as a standalone unit or as an integration in your existing ventilation systems. We provide a multi-stage filtration solution that is rated as a “High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filter” or HEPA. This is the highest standard for air filtration as referenced by the CDC in the 2003 Guidelines for Environmental Infection Control in Health-Care Facilities. Aeroex provides these filters to workplaces like schools and hospitals, with hundreds already deployed. For a medical grade air purification system, Aeroex recommends the IRIS of solutions – how they work and how to select the right solution is described below.
How Do Industrial Air Filtration Units Work
The IRIS air purification systems are designed to provide medical-grade protection in occupied spaces like waiting rooms, schools, hospitals, restaurants, and other public gathering spaces. The dual-stage filtration was designed by Aeroex to provide adequate capacity and high performance.
First, a primary MERV 8 filter removes dust, volatile organic compounds, odor-causing compounds, and other particles larger than medical-grade particles like coronaviruses. This filter will provide you with many noticeable benefits beyond medical-grade air purification, notably the elimination of dust and odors. The benefit of this approach is that these particles do not enter the HEPA filter, allowing it to attack only the smallest particles with maximum efficiency. After the MERV 8 primary filter, the second stage HEPA filter provides best-in-class medical-grade purification with an efficiency rating of 99.97% for particles as small as 0.3 nanometers. The dual-stage filtration includes several technologies – activated carbon in the primary filter uses adsorption to capture particles through adherence. The secondary HEPA filter uses incredibly fine and randomized mesh to capture particles through diffusion, interception, and impaction.
Does a HEPA filter stop coronavirus particles? The answer is yes! Recent studies show that coronavirus particles are a minimum of 4.7 nanometers in size, while the HEPA filter works at up to 3.0 nanometers, smaller than coronavirus and therefore filtering it. While this technology does not guarantee the elimination of airborne particles that causes infections like COVID-19 or replace other public health requirements, this technology will significantly reduce the risk in your workplace.
Finally, it is important to note that air purification systems work only when deployed correctly. It is common to see claims about HEPA technology that do not consider capacity, deployment method, or required air exchange. As described below Aeroex ensures you choose, configure, and deploy the right solution to meet your expected results. How to Choose an Industrial Air Cleaner
While many companies may provide you with a “one size fits all” solution, Aeroex understands from the science of air purification that configuration and deployment will significantly impact whether you meet our desired result. The first and foremost consideration will be the size of the rooms in need of air purification, their occupancy, and therefore how much air handling capacity is required to deliver on recycling targets (more is always better but 4 per hour is a recommended target). With this understood, Aeroex will supply the corresponding IRIS unit – we have eight models ranging in size from 400 cubic feet per minute to 4000!
Beyond the size of the unit, there are options for portable units that can be placed directly at the source of transmission for a targeted solution or a centrally mounted unit that integrates with your ventilation to provide ambient control in a larger or more congregate setting. There are also Aeroex’s new ceiling-mounted fan units to consider that were specifically designed for cleanrooms, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, laboratories, and pharmacies. Finally, Aeroex can provide configuration and deployment refinements such as supplying positive or negative air pressure when requested for high-risk settings like medical facilities.
